The Art of Character Depth

This is one of my favorite subjects. How does one create depth?

Shortly after I started my blog, fellow writers and I conducted a character depth study where we focused on 2 very specific ways of looking at the depth of characters in film:

* Contradictions in the Character
* Depth through Cast Design

More Cinematic Storytelling

I’d like to share three more examples of cinematic storytelling, except this time, they’re written by fellow TriggerStreeters. Some day, guys, some day, a professional in the biz will say to you, “when I was reading your script, I could totally picture this on the screen.” Hope you enjoy them.

Its a big week at TriggerStreet, and Dana and Evan have something entirely new to discuss: their very own #1 movie! Thats right, "21" is a hit at the box office, but thats not the only thing worth talking about as SAG and AFTRA go their separate ways, "Fanboys" fans are protesting, and Superman has legal troubles...

The guys discuss the losses of three greats this week with the deaths of Arthur C. Clarke, Paul Scofield, and Anthony Minghella. Unfortunately, those aren't the only losses we have to talk about, as CBS loses 'Jericho' (again), Pam Anderson loses a marriage (again), 'Drillbit Taylor' loses at the box office, and Ashley Dupree loses her million dollar deal. On the upside, we do have a couple of winners as 'Horton' stays strong at the box office and Ridley Scott and Leonardo DiCaprio help Brad Ingelsby score the Hollywood dream...
