Good Film

Legs 11
Uploaded by: Alice Belewa
Director: Deanna Dewey
Writer: Deanna Dewey
Producer: Phil Peel
Cast: Jamie Bannerman, Daniel Souter, Sohm Kapila, Claira Watson Parr

In this short film I can see the writer has put a lot thought and planning into it, which is kind of strange to me. Don’t know why. By carrying a title Legs, is word that was generated from human body part. the film length is 6 minute long. It has for lead characters, Sarah, Jack, Micko and Lucy.

The film is about a guy who thinks he is a player, also is attracted to women with irresistible body part which is there Legs. He is a builder also has an assistance called Micko who is an apprentice to Jack. Micko knows little about women and dating. He appears to not like the way Jack treat women. At the end of the film Jack has a taste of his own medicine, not knowing that his time is up of being a player. All the women that he has try to pass his charm on. They teamed up to do revenge on him by beating him.

The film starts off with two people working into shot. Which I think the director was trying to impose a question into the audience mind. He uses different shot size which shows expressions actors face and what characters they are like. He uses effects, image (shoe) and sound.
The music he use works with each of the scenes, although I think the sound that was playing in the building was a little bite loud overall. The sounds the direct uses has an originality field to its. He also uses diagetic and non-diagetics type of sound
What makes the film stands out is the opening and the end scene. The film has a little comedy sides to it example when the women was beating Jack.

The use of dialogue helps the audience to understand the plot also the less dialogue from actors. Which I think was a very clever idea, I think the director didn’t want give much of the dialogue away. I think he uses images to put a creative sense on its audience minds.
The director also use lots of day lights as a source of light in nearly all the scene unless the room where Jack and Micko was in.
The film as a whole was good. I like the film, it’s has a chick flick and catchy mood to it and also a funny pieces. I think was different and clearly explained. I think the cast where real. The audience I recommend for this is adults and young teen. Is it a film for people who love comedies and Romantic genre?
I didn’t think the George Inn image was necessary in the film. I think they should have use a steady cam shot. The camera should have been placed on a tripod to have that realistic effect of the Inn. The other scene I think should have been included was the kids in the park. May be the direct should have put shots such as how Jack meat with the girls. Also show when Sarah confronts Jack of his ways.
