1. Can I have more than one account?
No. Any member found to have multiple accounts will have every account suspended and/or deleted and their membership revoked.
2. Can I change my user name?
No. Having a single user name keeps track of a member's participation, both positive and negative, and also helps prevent 'hit and runs' by members doing something under one name and then 'hiding' under a different name. It also helps members keep track of each other and their progress.
3. How do I create a signature file for the message board that will appear with every post?
First go to your TRIGGERPAGE and click on EDIT YOUR ACCOUNT. In the section titled "Message Board Signature" click the box next to"Enable signature for message board" and then enter your signature in the space provided and click the SUBMIT button at the bottom of the page. Note that there is a 250 character limit for your signature.
4. Where do I download FREE viewers for the site's films and written submissions?
For
SHORT FILM VIEWING you will need to download the RealOne player or the Real Basic Player and the QuickTime Player.
For
WRITTEN SUBMISSIONS like Screenplays, Short Stories, Books and Plays, you will need to download the screenplay to your computer by hitting the "Read It" button.
Below are links for the viewers you may need to download. They are all free.
5. What if I forget my username and/or password?
For a password reminder, click
here, then provide the email address that you used when registering to the site and click SUBMIT. If your account is on file, the log-in information will be sent immediately.
If you don't receive the email message within a short period of time, check that you correctly entered your email address, and then check your spam filters.
6. Can I make changes to my account? What can I change?
Go to MY TRIGGER PAGE and click the EDIT button in the top right corner. That will take you to 'Edit Your Personal Profile' where you can:
- Delete your account.
- Change your password.
- Change your email address.
- Choose to display or hide your email address.
- Choose to be informed if you get a review.
- Choose to receive or stop the Weekly Newsletter.
- Enter or Edit your bio.
- Upload an image for your User Page.
- Edit your favorite movies list.
- Edit your favorite genre list.
- Edit your profile and contact details.

7. How do I get assigned submissions to review?
There are two ways to request an assignment, which are as follows:
1. Click either SHORT FILMS or SCREENPLAYS and then click REQUEST ASSIGNMENT.
2. Go to MY TRIGGERPAGE. Click MANAGE YOUR ASSIGNMENTS. Click the appropriate link for the assignment-type you want, either "Request a Screenplay Assignment" Or "Request a Short Film Assignment".
Assignments are then given out by the
Assignment Generator. To see assignments currently assigned to you, simply go to your MY TRIGGER PAGE. Screenplay and Short Film assignments will be listed there.
8. What happens if a review I posted or a submission I
uploaded is reported to the Hall of Justice?
The item first goes through the
Arraignment Process where it will be randomly put before other users. They vote as to whether or not it should continue on to the
Jury. If the majority votes to not send it on to the Jury, then it is removed from the Hall of Justice and the reporting members
User Rating may be affected. If this was the first time the item was reported and it does not go before the Jury, it can be reported again; but the outcome of the second time in the Hall of Justice is final. The item will then not be able to be reported again while it remains on the site.
If the outcome of an Arraignment Process determines that the item should go before the Jury, you will receive an
automated email stating that you have 72 hours to write a defense or otherwise comment on the item of yours that is before the jury (this response by you is optional).
NOTE: The Jury has the option to not lower your User Rating, even if they vote the item be deleted. This is important to take into consideration while writing your initial response to the notification that your item has been submitted to the Hall of Justice.
The majority vote of the Jury determines if the reported item is deleted or not. The Jury's decision is final and therefore even if it was the first time the item was reported to the Hall of Justice, it cannot be reported to the Hall of Justice again. If the Jury's decision is to delete your item, your User Rating may be lowered, but your active participation in the site can help restore it to its previous level.
9. How do I add an image to MY TRIGGER PAGE?
You can upload a
image for your personal profile and you
are also able to upload one image for each submission. Any images you upload must be
created by you or within your rights to reproduce and use.
You can also add a picture to your submission, by using the
'EDIT' button from its page. To add one to
your profile, go to 'MY TRIGGER PAGE' and click
the 'EDIT' button. The image you use for your member profile page will also default to be the avatar for all of your message board postings.
All images must be in .jpg or .gif
format and exactly 85 pixels wide and
100 pixels high.
10. What if I can't find the answer to my question here?
If your question is not covered here in the FAQ's, or
if you want more information, the best source is the
site's
Message Board.
To get to it, go to the Nav Bar
at the top of this page and click
MESSAGE BOARD.
You can also email Trigger Street Operations
ONLY after you have presented your
question to the Message Board and do not receive an adequate
answer. If you do not first utilize the Message Board prior to
emailing
Operations,
your email may go unanswered.
11. Does TriggerStreet do anything about spiteful emails sent by other members?
TriggerStreet cannot monitor or be responsible for emails sent to you by other members. Although these incidents are unfortunate, they are a part of the culture of the internet and are unavoidable at times. Keep in mind, however, that valuable networking often begins with a disagreement.
If it is extreme, and if there is no possibility of a reasonable discussion, the best solution is to simply ignore it. There is a good chance that if you reply it will only inflame the situation further. If you think an email is physically threatening to you, then perhaps contacting your local police is the answer.
These situations are rare, and although other
members often do have legitimate reasons to contact you at times, you do have the option to not have a CONTACT ME option available from your Profile. To do so, go to YOUR PROFILE and click EDIT YOUR ACCOUNT. Once there click NO next to 'Display email?'.
12. How do I cancel my account?
Go to your MY TRIGGER PAGE and click the EDIT button in the upper right corner. This will take you to 'Edit Your Personal Profile', which at the top of the page reads 'If you would like to cancel your account, click here'. This will cancel your account, remove all of your submissions and reviews, and cannot be undone.
13. What happens if the Jury deletes a review I posted or a submission I uploaded?
If a review you wrote is deleted, you will lose any credit it may have earned you. If a submission you uploaded is deleted, any credits it had attached to it will be lost, all of its assignments and reviews will be removed.
The decision of the
Jury is final and cannot be undone. Deletions of your items could cause your
User Rating to be lowered.
NOTE: The Jury has the ability to vote to not lower your User Rating, even though they vote for your item to be deleted. This is important to take into consideration while writing your initial response when notified that your item has been submitted to the Hall of Justice.
14. May I query Trigger Street Productions though the site's email address?
No. Unfortunately Trigger Street Productions does not accept
unsolicited submissions or queries via a physical delivery service or
email. Due to legal liabilities, any submissions or queries that are
emailed to us are deleted and those physically delivered are rejected
or disposed of.
15. How do I edit my password, bio, or any of the info
related to my uploads?
To edit your password or other profile information,
go to the
MY TRIGGERPAGE and use
the
EDIT YOUR ACCOUNT link in left menu. A member name cannot be
changed once registered.
To edit any information about your uploaded
screenplay or short film, go to
MY TRIGGERPAGE and click the MANAGE YOUR SUBMISSIONS link there. You will be taken to another page that lists all of your submissions and you will have an edit link available to for each one.

16. How do I increase my User Rating?
Review Assignments - Complete assignments given by the
Assignment Generator as constructively as possible and in a well thought out manner.
Enter a Bio - If you do not enter a Bio in your
User Profile your User Rating cannot advance to
Intermediate or Advanced status. Many jump up to Advanced after entering a Bio, though the change may not take effect until the next day. This also means you must include:
First and last name.
Full address.
Phone number.
Email.
Favorite 5 films.
To get to add this information, go to your MY TRIGGER PAGE and then click EDIT.
Upload Your Work - The more work you upload and the higher it gets rated and ranked, the more your user rating increases.
Upload Images - Uploading a image with your submissions or to your user profile helps your User Rating. You can
upload a image to your uploads or user profile at anytime by using the EDIT function on your MY TRIGGER page.
Length of Membership - The amount of time you are a registered member weighs in on your User Rating.
Stay Active - Logging into the site daily and actively participating shows that you are an active member and helps to increase your user rating.
17. How do I search the site?
You are able to search for Short Films, Screenplays, Short Stories, Members, Reviews or Message Board posts. To do so, click the white box next to SEARCH
in the top center of your screen.
Type in your search term, then click the word SHORT FILM, SCREENPLAYS, SHORT STORIES, MEMBERS, REVIEWS or MESSAGE BOARD to search in any of these sections. The more precise the search term, the more narrow the results, but you can type in a partial word or term if you wish.
You can also sort the search results alphabetically or by date.
18. Why do I have to review other submissions before I can upload mine?
The function of the site relies on the active participation of its members. Requiring members to review other members work prior to uploading their own helps ensure a continuing flow of constructive feedback within the community.
Note: Only assigned reviews of submissions will result in members receiving credits, without which your submission will not be assigned to others. Also, please note that for a limited time only you can upload Plays without completing reviews of other members' Plays.
19. How Do I Upload Images to the Community MOBLOG?
To upload images, simply send them to
ts@triggerstreet.com
The subject of your e-mail will be the heading for the
picture, and
any text included in the body of the message will be
included as a
description of the picture (tip: be mindful of automatic message
signatures that you may have set up in your mail client... if it's
part of the message body, it'll be included!).
Make
sure to
include your
username in
the body of your message so other members will know
who
submitted the picture.
NOTE: There is a character limit on picture descriptions. If your message extends longer than approximately 190 characters (which equals about 35 to 45 words), it may not display in its entirety.
All images must be approved by TriggerStreet.com staff
before they
are posted. Any inappropriate images posted may result
in the
suspension of your TriggerStreet.com account.
20. I'm having trouble accessing some TriggerStreet pages, and have been told that clearing my browsers cache may help. How do I do that?
In Internet Explorer:
Go to TOOLS - INTERNET OPTIONS - GENERAL -
And click DELETE COOKIES
Then click DELETE FILES (this can take a while if you've never done it).
Now click SETTINGS -
Under "Check for newer versions of stored pages" select "Automatically." And it should never be a problem again.
In Netscape:
Go to EDIT - PREFERENCES - ADVANCED - CACHE and click "Clear Cache."
Under "Compare the page in the cache to the page on the network" select "Every time I view a page."
Closing and opening your browser can also help.
Different versions of your browser might be different, but the basic method is the same.
21. What are User Ratings and what are they used for?
A member's User Rating reflects their activity and participation in the site. The higher a member's User Rating is, the more flexibility and advantages they have (for more details on these, please see User Rating Definitions below). The User Rating rises to the next level and maintains these levels the more a member participates in the site, but it can also drop due to violation of site policies, deletion of reviews or submissions by the Hall of Justice, or lack of participation in the site, i.e. not completing Review Assignments. (A member's rating will not fall because of removing assignments and requesting another, but can if some assignments are not done.)
As you can see, many factors determine your User Rating,
including the amount of uploads and reviews you
have, the length of time you have been a member,
how often you log in, the amount of your
participation in the Hall of Justice, and the amount of
your participation in the Message Board. Also, you must provide additional information to move up to Intermediate or Advanced. We encourage
your well considered participation as the fastest
way
to get a higher user ranking.

22. What if I have technical problems with the site (aside
from streaming short film)?
To fully experience this site we highly recommend
using the following:
 |
a computer
with a processor of 600 MHz or greater; |
 |
a fast
connection to the Internet, such as a DSL line or cable
modem; |
 |
a recent
browser, such as IE 5 or Netscape 6. |
Anything less in all three areas will compromise your
enjoyment of the site.
If you're experiencing odd or inappropriate behavior
from the site, or you have a suggestion for
improvement, email
operations@triggerstreet.com.
23. What happens if my screenplay makes it into the SITE FAVORITES?
When a member's screenplay makes it into the SITE FAVORITES, TriggerStreet.com has first look option to your screenplay for a period of no less than ninety (90) days should we want to pursue your screenplay for development to be negotiated in good faith. The 90-day period begins on the date your screenplay is first listed as a SITE FAVORITE. More detailed information may be found in the Screenplay Participation Agreement, which members initial and agree to prior to uploading screenplays.
Also, once a screenplay has been listed as a SITE FAVORITE at least once, it becomes eligible for Affirm Voting and for selection as a Screenplay of the Month nominee.
24. What is the purpose of TriggerStreet?
TriggerStreet is a community of filmmakers, screenwriters, and
film
aficionados gathered together in the virtual space
to
share and critique scripts and short films. This community provides a platform for undiscovered talent to showcase their work and gain valuable exposure and feedback that it may not normally have access to. It is also a venue to learn about the art of screenwriting and filmmaking by critiquing others' work.
Members upload their work to be reviewed by other screenwriters, directors, producers and film enthusiast both inside and outside of the entertainment industry. The interactive method we have deployed generates a responsive user experience that benefits the submitting member with constructive criticism and feedback from a global audience, as well as the reviewer with a chance to critique work in an early stage of development. This practice has proven to be invaluable to thousands of our members by providing them with a wide spectrum of unbiased opinions and critiques that can then be taken into consideration for future drafts or projects.
The goal is that independent and undiscovered work and talent will find a wider audience and exposure that can help get it to another level.
Several times a year, TriggerStreet hosts a
Short Film Festival that results in 10 finalists. From those 10 there are 4 nominees chosen to go on to be judged by entertainment industry heavyweights at the end of the Festival Season.
Previous Festivals have been judged by many credible names including Bono, Mike Myers, Annette Bening, Cameron Crowe, Danny Devito, Liv Tyler, Sydney Pollack, Mike Nichols, Sheryl Crow, Q-Tip, Andrew Stanton, Phil Ramone, and Billy Bob Thorton.
The Screenplay forum also offers an invaluable tool for writers to get unbiased constructive feedback and exposure from a global audience. This feedback and criticism can help bring valuble attention to the script and assist in the revisions of the script that will ultimately make or break it. Each month, 3 screen plays are chosen to be covered by
Script Shark to determine the Screenplay of the Month.
25. Can I edit a comment I left on a Digest article, member's TriggerPage, or submission page?
Like Message Board posts, Comments are only editable for three minutes.
26. What if I don't want a Comments section on My TriggerPage?
My default, the Comments section of your TriggerPage and submission pages is enabled. If you would like to remove the comments section, first click on MY TRIGGERPAGE in the main menu, then click on EDIT MY ACCOUNT (or EDIT YOUR SUBMISSIONS for your individual submissions) in the menu on the left side of the page. In the section titled "Display Comments" choose 'Yes' to display comments on your TriggerPage or 'No' to disable the feature.
27. Why is a review of my submission now gone?
The review may have been in violation of site policies and was then submitted to the Hall of Justice, to which the majority vote agreed to delete it.
